This is a free online scan that will scan your computer and remove a virus fro
FREE unlike most programs that charge for removal after telling you something
is wrong. Matter of fact, some of these so-called virus scans are a Virus
themselves. Check out an antivirus before you decide to use it,
especially if one all of a sudden pops up on your screen and tells you that you
have a virus, and it is not the one installed on your computer. These are
known as TROJANS and will make you think that you have a virus and you must
download it to remove the virus. If you do not know everything that a
Trojan can do, then you might want to find out by using Google. A Trojan
can do more than a virus sometimes, and not be detected by your
antivirus. I suggest and use the following at sometime or another on
every computer that I use or work on - SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY - ADAWARE - CCLEANER
- SUPERANTISPYWARE - ULTRA DEFRAG - Best of all free Antivirus
Programs FREE AVG. All of these programs are free
and great to use to clean a system. You can buy the full versions if you
want to, but there is no reason at all to do that at all. The free
versions work great as long as you go through the settings and put everything
at the highest setting that they have. If you have any questions about
any of these programs let me know. I will be glad to help with the
settings. Email me from there if you need to. I have not had a
chance to update it because I have been busy with my D.A.V. Service Officer
work helping Veterans with V.A. Claims. If for some reason you are still
using Windows XP and you need a good antivirus, and you do not want to use AVG,
let me know and I will help you with another one. Always remember to turn
off SYSTEM RESTORE when you want to clean your system. If you do not do
this procedure, you are only saving the VIRUS in your restore folder on your
computer. I always turn this feature off and keep everything backed up in
case something happens. Some programs will allow your computer to use the
system restore point. I never use this either.
Well I just saved
you a bunch of money telling you about all of these free programs and gave you
a lot of free advice. I hope that you print this information out for the
future. Money is tight these days and computer shops love to take your
money. I have never been like that. I like to be able to sleep at
night knowing that my customers can eat for the month. Please make sure
that you use the links to the programs above. Do not click on the first
download thing that you see. If you look on the page you will see the
correct download link that you are looking for. Do not click on the
Registry Cleaner programs. The programs that I listed are the best (in my
opinion) to use. When you install Spybot, Do not use the TEA TIMER unless
you know what a firewall is. Tea Timer is a powerful program to keep your
computer safe, but it can hurt your computer just as fast if you allow the
wrong program to run. This is the same with anything that you have
installed (or Microsoft installed for you without asking you if you want it or
even know what it does, or how to use it.). If you are unsure if a
program is safe or not, use snopes or another kind of research place to check
it out. Do not just allow everything to run, because you could activate a
Virus or Spyware. Most important thing of all to remember: All
programs do not automatically run or update themselves. Some programs can
even get corrupted by spyware and your settings will be changed. Check
your settings every time that you run the program and update them
daily. Also run the programs, I have put these programs on many computers
and have had to return for repairs, simply because the programs were
not even run, or updated when they were run.
There is also an operating system that I suggest
that my customers to look into.
Ubuntu is the operating system.
Ubuntu is based on a Linux Kernal but looks like Windows because it can
be navigated and looked at. Linux is
text based and Ubuntu is not. This
operating system is relatively easy to use and you do not have to worry about
getting a Virus or Spyware.
